What a time it is to be a Browns fan… It’s hard to believe that this Cleveland Browns team has gone from being an utter disaster to becoming one of the most exciting teams in football. The current state of things in the AFC North are in their favor. Pittsburgh is trending downwards and Baltimore has lost key defensive stars, leaving Cleveland in prime position to take over.
On paper, this Browns offensive squad has otherworldly potential. We’re looking at Baker Mayfield, Jarvis Landry, Odell Beckham, Kareem Hunt, and Nick Chubb, not to mention Callaway and Njoku. With all these pieces in place, Mayfield and HC Freddie Kitchens have the weapons at their disposal in order for this offense to truly take flight.
There’s always the question of chemistry, defensive struggles, or even having too many mouths to feed. But regardless of whatever there is to nitpick about, it’s very hard to go wrong with all that talent. Many question the Browns for how far they can really go within an inexperienced head coach and a young quarterback. But, based on what we’ve seen so far Freddie Kitchens has the ability to bring out the best in Baker Mayfield and year 2 will show us how good the two can be together.
Looking at this from an objective perspective, it’s truly impossible to believe that any defensive coordinator will have the perfect game plan for this offense, if at all any. With all signs pointing in the right direction, it’s hard not to pick Baker Mayfield as an early candidate for MVP.
